Snake gourd with dal recipe. Once the dal is done add in the ground masala and mix well. Then add thick coconut milk salt. Step 02 Once the chana dal is half done add chopped snake gourd chilli powder turmeric powder and pressure cook till 2-3 whistle.

Heat the oil in a small pan add the snake gourd seeds and saute till they turn soft. When cumin seeds turn brown. Pressure cook the dal and the snake gourd in enough water and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds urad dal allow it to crackle. Add 114 cups water and cook on medium flames for 2 whistles. Peel cut the snake gourd into thin half rounds and remove the inner seeds.

Heat oil in pan then add cumin seeds dry red chilies. Wash the Moong dal and soak in water for 30 mins. Add snake gourd cumin powder coriander powder little salt and mix it.

Add dry red chillies cumin seeds and asafoetida. Add onion curry leaves chilli and fry till translucent. Pour this tempering on the dal sprinkle the salt chilli powder and mix well.

Now take the grinding ingredients in a mixer and blend it to a smooth puree. Serve hot garnished with coriander. Cook till both are cooked well remember not to overcook till snake gourd is mashy.

Cover with water and bring it to a boil. Place lid and cook it on slow flame for 3-4 minutes. Soak chana dal for 30 minutes.

Once dhal is cooked halfway add sliced snake gourd. This Pudalangai Kootu recipe very easy to make. Heat oil in a pressure cooker base.
